Logo PIDPrague Integrated Transport (PID) is a transport system including Metro, trams, railways, city and suburban bus lines, funicular and ferry. This system is gradually integrated by common transport and tariff conditions and by a unified transport solution including coordination of schedules.

Prague Integrated Transport is a modern integrated transport system of public transport of persons built according to the recommendations of the European Union as a municipal transport association. It gradually develops on the territory of the City of Prague, the districts Prague - East and Prague - West and the adjacent territory of other districts in Central Bohemian region with decisive transport relations to the City of Prague. Prague Integrated Transport is built with the objective to ensure good quality servicing of the territory supporting competitiveness of public transport against individual transport. Decisive criteria of the attractiveness of an integrated system are time, price, comfort, reliability and security.

Basic principles of Prague Integrated Transport are:

  • Unified regional transport system based on the preference of the spine rail transport (railways, Metro, trams), bus transport is organised especially as a transport linking-up to terminals built at rail transport stations
  • The system enables a combined way of transport by a personal car and by public transport means realised through the P+R parking facilities built at the terminals of the spine rail transport in the suburbs of Prague and its surroundings
  • Unified change tariff system enabling to make a ride by using a single ticket with the necessary changes, and this regardless of the selected way of transport and transporter
  • Creation of conditions for market and competitive environment on the transport market with the objective to keep the necessary economic effectiveness of the operation, and this while maintaining the transport coordination and cooperation
